Ok.. i am an 18 year old guy and i really want to create a website that accepts donations for fighting aids. My first question, legally , can i accept donations when i am not an organization or anything- i am just an individual. Second question: would you trust to pay someone like me?

  4. There are existing AIDS programs; decide what you want to designate the $$'s for (Hospice,Research, Educational programs. )Your challenge is to decide whether you want to set up a trust, a non-profit (501C-3); hardly anyone' s going to donate a substantial amount to a regular individual. And if they did, you'd be in a pickle w/the IRS, as you'd have to call donations income & do the 1099 tax thing.Find an organization toaffiliate with (it's called Umbrella Agency in the 501C-3  world) ;you can be the trustee of incoming dollars, as long as there's an established account. . probly requires 2 signatures ~ ask your bank!!Note: programs generally slide through smoothest if there's an educational  component  in your proposal.

  6. You would need to register as a charity or join an existing one .

You would also have to register with the tax office and keep books etc etc.
