i'm a uk resident but i got a new passport,and my valid permit was in my old passport,do i need to bring the two passport if i'm travelling?good day and more power to you and your staffs

I had this problem when applying for a new passport for my boss.  Its best to contact the embassy who issued the permit, when I did I was told that my boss would need a new visa.  The reason for this was that the visa that had been issued was in a passport which had been cancelled - therefore the visa was effectively cancelled.

when traveling you need both passports ,the old one with the visa and the new one ;

they usually stapple the 2 together

keep the  2 together .

I don't think you do, as the new passport will cover you - but if I were you I'd take both of them just to be on the safe side - it's not like they're huge!

I was in the same position last year, where you are now. I have been asked by the British immigration authorities to staple both the passports. Since my passport is Pakistani, Pakistani embassy suggested it is best to attach my old passport for a period of minimum 2years unless you have a compelling reason not to. When you re-enter UK now, they will stamp your new passport and write with pen VIPP (visa in previous passport) or EC IN PP (entry clearance in prev. passport). Hope this helps!

We had the same problem with my son's passport in Vietnam, and we were advised by the Consulate to carry both passports until the Visa was renewed.

Quite definitely yes.  The new passport does not confer the rights of any visa or permit in the old one.  I know many people who carry their current passport plus the two previous ones so all the permits/visa etc are there.
