I'm only 13 years old. I've been a vegetarian my whole life and most likely will always be one. I weigh only 97.8lbs and my height is 5'4/2.

I AM skinny and I don't mind being skinny, its just that I play sports (tennis, badminton, track & field, cross country, and i bike) and I need to gain a little more weight. It's not healthy for me to be this underweight.

I also don't eat eggs. I'm allergic, I get really bad stomach pains and feel like I'm going to puke.

  1. Hey! It is great that you noticed you are underweight, it means you care about your body.

I would eat more protien and carbs. Eat more pasta and bread and other whole wheats. Don't go junky because you feel to skinny.

Continue to exercise because that is great.

I would talk to a doctor and get some input on how to "fatten you up''.

  2. Ask your Doc for an appointment with a Dietician.

I hope you are taking the right vitamins, proteins as well - I wouldn't want you to go blind like a friend of mine did.

  3. I think you just need to bump up your calories.  You are eating too little.  Eat more beans, nuts, and other high-calorie foods.

  4. ur  not under weight ur an the skiny side but ur perfectly fine im 98 pounds and 5 6' and my doter says that im not underweight so ur not eater.

but if u really want to gain weight dont gain fat its to hard and unhealthy just workout and gain more mussel.

  5. You need to consume more calories than you use.  Playing sports burns a LOT of calories so eat more calorie dense foods like nuts.

  6. You are likely ruining your health and setting yourself up for osteoporosis when you are older. Your body is developing and you need to be very careful. You need to see a nutritionist.

  7. eat cookies and drink alot of soda and u are not underweight that is good for ur age

  8. I wrote this an answer to other questions, but it also applies here too! This stuff provides you with plenty of protein and it will help you gain healthy muscle! You want to gain the muscle, not the fat! You could definitely afford some fat though, so eat a lot of Oreos, cake, and icecream! Or eat a lot of salad because then you will put a lot of salad dressing (which has a great deal of calories in it) on your salad.

Morning Star Farms makes great stuff! It comes in a green box in the frozen food section! My favorite are the chicken nuggets, chicken tenders, and chicken patties! It is called "chicken", but everything is soy meat. It just doesn't sound as appetizing if you say soy tenders! They taste amazing in the oven (or microwave), especially with ketchup!!! They also have stuff like sausage links (soy sausage links), some sort of sesame ginger rice patty, tomato basil burgers, buffalo wings (still soy), and a lot more! People who are not even vegetarian eat this stuff because it tastes great and it is not expensive! These links show you what the boxes look like!

    Remember! Everything is 100% vegetarian!

This stuff tastes better than any other brand!! Try the sausage links with ketchup or one box of something else to see if you like it! I have not met anyone who doesn't like at least 90% of their products! *They turn out better in the oven though!

I hope this helps you gain some muscle and weight! Check the boxes, but I do not think these products contain eggs. Read the ingredients just to be sure because I don't want you to get sick!!

  9. Eat more protein. Drink milk, and eat high-carb foods like spaghetti & pasta.

Also eat a lot of bread & wheaty things

  10. Eat more protein and dairy- beans, tofu, cheese, milk, etc.

You also may want to see your doctor for advice.

It may also just be your metabolism. When I was 13, I was just about your size (5'4", 96 lbs). I would eat all the time and people would still look at me like I starved myself. As a matter of fact, my close friends used to tease me that I never stopped eating because I was full, I'd stop eating because my jaw was tired from chewing. I finally started to fill out when I was about 25.  :-)

Just be sure to get all the nutrients and vitamins you need and to eat enough so your body has plenty of energy for all the stuff you do.
