I'm an incredibly picky eater but I'm trying to change my eating habits.

I don't like lettuce, most vegetables (like broccoli, cauliflower, etc), and some fruits. Is there anyway to change my eating habits or preferences?

  1. i am a picky eater as well!!! i didnt like most veggies. but i found out that the reason why is because i didnt like cooked veggies. research some recipes or go to a buffet. i know that sounds weird but go there and take a tiny spoonful of everything and try it. DO THIS ONLY ONCE!!!!! lol thats what my mother made me do. oh! and veggies are good wit that velveeta cheese!!! not too healthy though

  2. yes there is, i have done it. First off you need to realize that it is in your head that you dont like it. So first thing is to keep telling yourself that you like these foods.

second, find something that you do like, and work in a little bit of that. Example:

Maybe you really like terryaki<sp?> chicken and white rice. Well, add just a little bit of broccoli to it and make sure to eat it.

Sure it will be smothered in sauce, and covered up by the chicken, but as time goes on you add more and more. I did this with mushrooms. I used to hate them, then i started eating them on hamburgers (not many, maybe 3 slices). Then i started to try things with cream of mushroom in it. Started to like that. Then i moved onto a stir fry which it in there, maybe 3 full mushrooms in the entire stir fry.

Now i can eat them almost straight i love them so much.

But the key is to start light with them, and work them into meals.

Also, in general, when you just go ahead and eat foods, your taste buds will adapt to the foods.
