I'm from a really small town also in which our school and coach isn't to big on this sport. I really don't know how I'm going to go to school for volleybal without the help of my coach!

  1. I'd say you should move to somewhere where there really big on Volleyball. Or try to take some trips to where scouts go a lot and try to get them to check you out at 1 of your games!

  2. i dunno

  3. Make a short video of you when you are playing.  It would help if you could video when you are playing in a match.  Then add some video with you working some individual skills.  Do several hits.  Have someone hit some shots at you to show you digging.  Make copies of these videos and send them out to the schools you would like to attend.

If you are not able to do a video, write to the schools that you want to attend.  Tell them your situation.

Go to the below web site and see what you need to do in order to be recruited.

It is too late to play club ball.  And your question does not say if you are a senior this year or a junior.  If you are a junior, try to play club ball next year.  It will be some driving, but it should help get your recruited.  Go to usavolleyball.org, then the WannaPlay link, then the USA regions link, then the RVA link, and then the area of the map where you live.  You should be able to find a club near you.  If you are a senior, try this link now.  See if the club nearest you has an 18 and under team and they need a player this year.  Sometimes, teams have 18 year olds that drop out of club after they get their scholarships.

I hope this helps.  Good luck.

  4. Gordon was correct. The only real way to get recruitment exposure besides through your coach at school, is through club ball. Most clubs that have Junior teams above 15 usually have a recruitment display program. as an example look at this site:

    http://www.greatlakescenter.com

If you notice this particular club holds an "unsigned Seniors night" that allows any player to register and participate, not just players for their club.

as another example, look at this club:

    http://www.skyhighvolleyball.org/

this club is extensive in helping its players get recruited. So as  Gordon suggested, find a club near you that has 18U teams and need a player

  5. find a volleyball trainer or something like that work and try your best and then if you make it rub it in your coaches face.
