I'm a week late for my period...

and I took a test last friday and it came back negative. Do you think that maybe it could have been too soon to test?? This cycle has been weird.. i had mid-cycle spotting, I'm NEVER late for my period. I had s*x right around ovulation so there is a chance that i could have gotten pregnant. I know if I don't start I need to go to the doctor, but my question is do you guys think that I should try another test?? I'm not having any of my normal signs that my period is getting ready to come on either. I just don't want to go and buy a test if that one i took was more than likely accurate. Many I ovulated later than I thought and it was too soon?? Have any of you taken a test and it took a while to come up positive?

You may not have enough hormones in your system for the pregnancy. Go to your doctor and ask for a blood test.

you should wait a few more weeks and if nothing than you should take another test. if ur only a week late than it's most likely too early. good luck

One of my mother's friends took 8 HPT (home pregnancy tests) and all came up negative. She then went to the doctor and took another urine based test, and it still came up negative. She then had two blood tests before she came up positive.

It isn't a very common case, but sometimes the HPT's aren't sensitive enough. If you haven't started in a few days, schedule an appointment with your doctor.

I say your probley preggers...

get the dollar tree test as they read a lower amount of hcg.. 25 it thing as more in the other stores read 50 hcg

call the dr..

if you are late for your period its a great sign. go at the end of your usual period and see your Doctor he will probably do a urine test. i would wait for the Doctor to do the test. until you see the doctor keep yourself as busy as possible,  Baby Dust to you.
