  1. Read more, do you think you are unique?   ALL  writers suffer from this.  I just started again after a long long dry spell.  I am so relieved.  I was not sure I would ever start at all. And then a story I have been puttering for over three years swam to the top of the tank. And I dived in the water and swam and swam right over the dam!

I had been trying force myself to relax, couldn't do it. Tried writing meditations.  Couldn't do it.  Tried screaming at everyone to leave me alone NOw!  All that happened is that I ticked everyone off.

So about a year ago, i gave myself permission to go to bed and run ideas through my head.  I usually went to sleep. But ONE night I got up and started something. Something I had promised a little girl a long time ago and she isn't so little and neither are my main characters. and I have time to work on this for her even if she never sees it.

So don't depend on other people's solutions, you have your own, waiting to be used.   Take what you like and leave the rest.

  2. Beginning. Middle. End.  Now, think of five parts to each. Develop each part into five parts.  Write those out and recursively edit them to tie the end to the beginning and bridge the middle.  This method helps me.

  3. A very good question, one that I had for a long time. The best answer I have is from my own experience, if you want to write a story, and you have this good idea in your head, then flush it out, save it, and if you truly cant work on it any more, then simply go to the next subject you want to write about. Now for me, I can't work on more than three stories at a time, sometimes its hard enough to sort out just one story. my best answer for u would be to try my method, switch around, remember, the day that the passion to write leaves you, is the day that you should stop.

    good luck my dear

  4. Maybe you can get off the block by writing a typical part of a day for a character you imagine could be an actual character in the book.

If you can't do this, then you need to buy a book or two on character development.  Characters would be your first necessity in a story.

  5. Seriously, try Flash Fiction!

  6. HAHA  I'm the exact same way, and what I do is take a break from my books. And then I can brainstorm some really neat ideas for my book, and I get really eager to write again. And then of coarse, I usually get bored and unfocused. Do what I do... Take a break from writing to brainstorm some cool new ideas so you WANT to continue to write your book. Just imagine everything in your head, and you can get some awesome new ideas!
