I'm a young woman who has no female friends. Is this weird?

I'm 22. I have several male friends (though no boyfriend) and no female friends. My guys friends and I talk about books, movies, and current events. I'm close to my two sisters and we do "girlfriend" things together. Does a young woman need female friends? Is it abnormal or detrimental for a young woman not to have female friends?

I really do believe we benefit from the social structure of female friends..  

I am not sure why you don't have any - you obviously enjoy the company, if you are close to your sisters...

If this is strange, then add me in the club!  I am married and pretty much look at it as my husband is my friend.  I have a cousin close in age that I am close with.  We go out like once a month just the two of us and that seems to do it for me.

I've had too much drama with 'girlfriends' in the past.  I was best friends with one for years and years and the moment she got married (I swear it happened overnight), she dropped me like a hot cake.  I haven't heard one word from her in 5 years now.  

I just look at it as some people like to have a lot of people in their lives, be it men or women to confide in, hang out with and just know that someone is there for them.  That's nice and all, but I like things simple.  If my husband doesn't want to do anything, then I am perfectly content by myself getting things done.  

So, long story short, no, you are not weird.  At least not in my 'girlfriend-less' opinion.

Well it sucks not to have female friends because you can't discuss the same things with guy friends as you can with girlfriends.  But I guess you can have that relationship with your sisters.  In that case it's not that strange.

h**l no. Stay close to family. Family is 10 times more important than friends. But its still ok to make friends as well. Just dont center your life on them.
