  1. You're genetically part Spanish by a very small fraction.

  2. Your "technically" Spanish, and that can't change.

  3. It means that "they" (whoever told you that you don't qualify) don't think that 1/16 isn't significant enough to label you as Hispanic.  Of course you're still part Hispanic "genetically".

  4. Hardly, you are very very very little Spanish. But, yes you are Spanish.

Like me, I'm part British, but only by a small part, I'm related to a few figures in Wales, but I'm not completely British.

You are Spanish, but only hardly. Just as I said before.

  5. If the law says 1/16 is not enough to be Spanish then that is the lawmakers opinions, however it is still the law.  In US history, the United States Supreme Court said that Dred Scott, a *****, was property and had no claim for freedom.  Obviously, in that case, they were wrong.  Similarly, the lawmakers saying you don't have enough Spanish blood to qualify to be Spanish could be off the mark, but for now, their opinions rule.  Consider this, you have 15 glasses of water and 1 glass of champagne.  If you drink the combination you are still drinking some champagne.  Since someone in your family tree was Spanish, you have Spanish blood in your veins.  Ole!
