Like I said, I am a 10 handicap golfer. I just got onto the highschool golf team and tournament season is about to start. I got the s59's for christmas and i can't hit them worth anything. I want a forgiving club that isn't for old men. I'm looking at g10's or x20's...tell me what you guys think. If those are are good clubs or not. I definitely appreciate the help. I have about 600 dollars to work with.

  2. High,

Find yourself a custom clubmaker, that person will evaluate your swing and make recommendations which include but are not limited too, type of head, maybe your swing would benefit from as offset head type, maybe it wouldn't. Shaft flex for your swing speed, torque, weight, length, grip size, weight... There are many things that a custom clubmaker can do for you that you are not going to get from an off the rack set of clubs. And 9 times out of 10 it is going to be cheaper then the off the rack set.

    Hope this helps,

    J

  3. dude come on don't lie to yourself if you are a 10 handicap you should have some considerable consistency in your irons and should be able to hit those clubs and man I'm a soph in high school and a 5 handi and started using mizuno mp 60 blades at a 9 handi so if you are a 10 u either have a great short game to get up and down a lot countering you crapy iron game and driving or your lying and should go get some big bertha irons from callaway or even an adams hibrid mix set.AND  the x20s should work for a forgiving club still got kinda a weird look to em not much workability. g10 same maybe try the i10s easy to hit but nice look good workability or bridgestone j36s.

  4. since you got the irons for christmas , they were off the rack , best thing and cheapest thing . is return to store , make sure they are custom fitted for you ping has so many options there is a 100% chance that they dont fit . store will fit them for you , if you feel you have to change , dont use these as a trade in on a new set sell them privatly , make 400 more good luck to you

  5. I would say unless there is some major problem with you and the clubs that maybe its the clubee(you). I would recommend seeking out some instruction and address any mechanical flaws before you plunge into the cycle of blaming everything but yourself for hitting the ball like c**p. I have played at a high level of junior golf and currently working toward status on the nationwide tour. If clubs just aren't for you then they just aren't for you but you must go and try different clubs(manufactures-lies-grips etc.) and figure out what YOU like, not what joe blow here likes. I will also add this because i wish that i would have realized this a long time ago- You play the course dude and not the people in the tournament. Dont rely on those who praise you 4 tomorrow they criticize you.

  6. It ain't the arrow...it's the Indian.

  7. If you want to stay with Ping, I's say hit the G5's and see what you think. If you like Callaway, the X20's (or even the X18's) are pretty solid. Otherwise you might consider the Mizuno MX-19's or even the Cobra S9's

  8. Dude I hit with a Nike Sq. driver and I love it to death, cobra fairway woods and the irons are still up in the air.  def. cobra woods though and probably driver too.  get the cobra f speed ld fairway woods they rock

  9. Get a Cobra set.
