How much does it cost to get a horse gelded?

I just had my colt gelded a couple weeks ago.  My vet charged $180 which included the pain medication and antibiotics for post-surgery care.  I'd say you should expect somewhere around that price maybe a little more if there's a farm visit charge.

I had one gelded about 2 months ago and i paid 450 dollars...I'm in California.

It cost me $125 last spring. It may vary by vet. Mine were done on the farm and the job was done well, no compications, nothing retained.

why buy a stud to get it gelded? i know of a stud for sale and the owners offered to gelded it.  . . maybe work something out with the owners. and i agree, ask a vet... im sure prices vary

Well your not going to answer.... So call a vet in your area & find out, do your homework. That is something I would have found out be for I got the horse!!!!!!!!!!!!  You can't get a 100% correct answer if you don't know where you are.

My ares is $150 and 300 miles away the same state is $250?  Best to give a few places and call and find out.
