  1. They are very simple.  Just follow the instructions.  There are a lot of things to consider when you buy a digital so do a lot of research.  New cameras come out often and each one seems to be better than the last.  I checked out consumer reports, a pc mag, and asked everyone I knew what they thought of their camera.  Buy enough pixels so that you can blow your pictures up huge. . .just in case. . .that starts at 5.  It also allows you to play with your pictures and blow up certain parts of the picture.  Digital zoom is the zoom on the camera to check out your pictures.  Optical zoom is actual zoom and how close youcan bring the picture in.  When I bought there was a caution about buying the smallest of the small cameras because they didn't have the clarity of the bar of soap size.  Mine was slightly larger, takes great pictures and videos.  I finally went on and bought an SLR so that I could use my old lenses and really get those closeups.  I like to go out in the brush and photograph animals and it seems I can never get a close enough picture.  They are great to have because you can take a zillion pictures, delete the ones that were awful and just print the ones you really like.  But you probably know all of that.  Last advice. . .buy as big as you can afford if you really like to take pictures.  Otherwise you will be like me. . .with a small camera and a large camera.  I should have just invested the bigger bucks in the big camera to start with.  And tomorrow I get to take my first picture of a hurricane eye wall. . .wish me luck. . . .

  2. They come ready to go out of the box. You can transfer pictures to a computer or digital picture frame via memory card.

  3. the manuals are normally pretty well set up. is a DSLR? or a point and shoot? PnS's are normally real easy to use as they suggest. If you have probs there are plenty of online help sites or the shop where you bought it? good luck....join flickr it's great!!
