I'm about to give my son a reading test (I teach at home)?

Can any teachers help me, the test is for 45mins does this time limit includes the reading of the info booklet as well?

  1. . No! You read ALL the instructions,plus have him put his name, etc, on the booklet BEFORE starting the test. Ask him if he has any Q's, needs to go pottie, has 2 sharp pencils, etc.

    Then let him take a deep breath or 2, then tell him to go [usually] to page one and that starts the exam. Give him a time warning at 15 and 5 minutes.

    IF he gets thru early and wants out, ASK him if he's sure he wants to stop early. Then let him go.


  2. The test time limit generally includes everything after filling out the informational part of the test booklet (name, birthdate, whatever) and reviewing the instructions.  After that, your student would have 45 minutes to read the selections and answer the question.
