  1. Breathe take your time and image yourself or someone just standing or just talking to you. Good Luck

  2. Try to practice before mirror..It works

  3. Keep confident! Dont let the audience make you nervous. Your probably a great speaker , so put ur self out there do u stuff and SHINE!

  4. Don't hold it back go for a full on dance number in the middle of the speech no one expects that!

Oh and about thinking about everyone being naked don't do it cause then you get the thought in your head "I wonder if the audience is picturing me naked too?" and yes, yes we are.

  5. Make eye contact with audience members.  Speak directly to them.  Pace the floor and look at different ones as you speak.  This will be seen as connecting with your audience and not nervousness.

  6. picture everyone naked

  7. If there is a dais, or podium available, try to keep one hand on it while you speak.  You can take a step, either way, even one forward and one back, but, by keeping one hand in place, it will minimize your rocking.

  8. Practice in front of trees, mirrors, or anything really. It worked for me :)

  9. Are you using a microphone which is stuck on a podium? If not, plan on walking a little bit, back and forth. That movement will keep you from doing other nervous movements. Have a water bottle there too, in case you need something to fiddle with to ease your nerves once or twice.

  10. I don't know why ask me?

  11. Reduce anxiety by taking deep breaths beforehand-smell the flower blow out the birthday candles.  Also just before starting, look up and to the left briefly.

If you're calmer, you are more likely to be aware of the rocking and stop it before it persists.

If it's a consistant problem, you can have hypnosis

  12. If there's a podium, try holding on.  You'd look very presidential.  If there's no podium, just walk back and forth looking at different parts of your audience.  If the room is too small for you to walk back and forth, you can request a stool to lean on.

    Good luck!

  13. find someone you talk to and dont have a problem with talking to normally and just talk to them, keep thinking to yourself that your feet are level to the ground and you'll stop swaying so much, if you talk confidently the swaying will also stop.

  14. lean against a podium or if it's in a classroom, ask one classmate to do something that will remind you that you are rocking back and forth such as tug his ears and every time you look at him/her you'll know if you're rocking back and forth.

  15. yeah i had that problem too. All you have to do is lean on one foot and barely stick your hip out to the side....

  16. Act like the crowd is your family, and you have something important to tell them!!!

  17. Two things:

    - Stand with your legs pressed together.  If you start rocking, you'll lose your balance, so it's easier for your body to think "don't rock".

    - Stand with your legs apart and shift your weight from one leg to the other.  Again, it's a position that doesn't lend itself well to rocking, and your body won't do it.

  18. Focus on your speech. Be mindful of what to say, be confident. Act like you are the know-it-all of your topic. People will respect you. Don't let the audience distract you. If possible, look straight at the wall in front of you when you speak, that'll help to stay calm. Also, practice.

  19. If you have notecards write on them to not rock back and forth, concentrate on talking slow or breathing, or have someone in the audience to look at who can give you signals to show how you're doing
