Question:

I'm addicted to coke, i need to stop?

I'm serious if i don't have a coke, a pepsi, or a dr. pepper at least once a day, i get a headache, no joke. but i really want to get off them because they are bad and because i have braces, and they won't get off my case.

i've tried one every other day. and at first it was good but then i started back again.

part of the problem is my grandma ALWAYS has coke.

and i don't like water, milk, or tea which is bad because that's what most people drink.

anyways to help me stop? thanks.

  1. Just try to drink water. Maybe it won't taste as good as coke for you, but seriously, it's good for your health. Think twice everytime you drink coke, always remember that it's not good for your health :) Goodluck


  2. You need to start only drinking half for a week. and then it will make it let needed!

I had those clear braces....and I drank so much soda, that my mountings started to change color...i brushed very well, but the soda stained the mountings (not my teeth though).  I only drink soda...I hate all other drinks as well....try to see if you can switch to Sprite, Ginger Ale, Sierra Mist....clear sodas....thats what I did...and after those braces came off I guzzled a 2 ltr of COKE!!

If you are a recovering alcoholic, I think it's just that you need something to BE addicted too... maybe like a smoker, it's a physical thing (I read a book about this woman who quit smoking but still needed to hold the cigarette for comfort)...If you did some research, I'm sure you'd find something that was WAY more healthy, but something that tastes good...like juice! :) Good luck!

  5. I was the same way.  Not only headache but I would get in the CRAPPIEST mood if I wasn't able to go to the 7-11 and get a double big gulf of whatever soda I wanted!!

    I ended up stopping soda all together.  After 2 weeks I felt like having one.  I took a huge swallow of a pepsi from a can....gulp gulp gulp..it tasted like DIRT!!  I haven't made that mistake since.  My advice to you.  IF your noticing problems with needing it...stop drinking it!!  The headaches will go away in just a few days.  Keep the advil handy.  You will feel tons better about yourself.  I also have to tell you that stopping drinking soda was harder for me to stop than smoking was!!  I haven't had a soda in over 4 years!!  I haven't had a cigarette in almost 8 years.  You can do it!!  Start drinking something else.  Something that isn't habit forming and something your body needs...like water!!  I drink unsweetened iced tea personally.  No sugar and it's mostly water!!  Much better for you!!

    i would try to stop drinking dark sodas for a week

    see how you feel about them after.

    for lent last year i gave up coke, and it has never been as good to me since.  i also never want it as much, only on occasion.

  7. Sounds like you're addicted to the caffeine.  Switch to one of the bottled green tea drinks instead.  There's lots of different flavors, and they are really popular.
