Grrr...I just got back from my doctors appt, for one I found out I have GBS, he assured me it's not big deal though that they will just give me more antibiotics when I go in labor, then he did the heartbeat thing which he is at 150, THEN...he did the cervix exam :I all he said was "well your still closed" :I GRRR! I'm so tired of being pregnant, its painful, I have been having BH contractions like crazy, been having sharp pains by my pelvic bone, extremely swollen feet, sharp pains right behind my belly button. I thought they would mean something but they dont. I think my doctor thinks I might go overdue because before he left he goes "don't worry we won't let you go to much past your due date" GRRR!!!! Now I go back in a week, every week...until he decides to make his grand entrance, which I think its going to be 4ever away! I'm sooo ready and have everything ready for him LOL but he's not apparently :( not really much of a question more of a vent (*sniffle*)

  1. I was due on September 5th last year.  You know when my daughter's birthdate is?  September 18th.  1 day shy of being 2 weeks overdue.  I NEVER dilated not the tiniest bit.  I did efface about 50% though.  I had to be induced and ended up with an emergency c-section because she couldn't tolerate labor.  Smart one she was, she knew she couldn't handle it so she made sure I never went into labor on my own.  I know you feel horrible, trust me, I have been there.  But it won't be too much longer.

  2. you don't have to be dilated to go into labor, but you sound like me... my baby is either too stubborn or to comfortable to come out so my doctor is going to induce me tomorrow i will be just 1 day shy of 39 weeks!

  3. Sorry to hear u are still in agony and baby is not budging at all.. =(

The good thing is u can do things to help labor progress faster, and the bad news is that doctors will not let u go past 42 weeks (which in your case would still be a few weeks away)...If you can stand it u can always opt for s*x...s*x is like exercise and can help bring on labor and contractions,,his sperm too will also help ripen and thin out your cervix so it will be ready to dialate, like if u have s*x and lay there for a while while your cervix collects his fluid (sorry tmi).

You can try walking or very light jogging, it may feel uncomfortable but uncomfortable is what u want right now =)...Put it this way, the longer u stay on your feel the more baby will press down on your cervix and dialate it.

With one of my pregnancies i was at 39 weeks and the baby would just not come on..I was not even a centimeter dialated so my doc told me to go home, have some s*x clean, walk, ride a bike whatever..So every day up until i had to see her again (was every week by that point) i dialated from 0 to 2 cent. in just less then a full week. i was ecstatic! but really u never know and only your baby will know when he is ready..I gave birth once at 42 weeks! and boy was i in pain, but it happens..I just hope this isnt your case..Try and try to stay active for now until your next appt, u just may come out with good news...Good Luck!

  4. I went 9 days overdue. yes it was miserable. But I had my baby the day of the scheduled induction! I actually went into labor on my own the night b4. I went from 0 - 1 cm in one day and 20 percent effaced to 100 that same day1 They then induced me though bc of my high bp but  I was already overdue and in early labor. It wouldnt be strange if you did go overdue, many women do esp with 1st pregnancies. and believe it or not there is comfort in the fact they wont let you go past your due date. my feet were always swollen too beginning at around 37ish weeks. By the time I was overdue I ended up having mild pre-eclampsia but my delivery went very smooth.

I also had gbs, and got administered antibiotics, but it didnt hurt or burn going in through my veins like ppl told me it would.

as for the weight gain part, I was 98 before pregnancy (now thats too skinny!) and weighed 141 at the end, so I gained about the same amount give or take you did. keep in mind youre taller than me so its about the same. And I lost it all within 3 weeks. I weigh 107 now, which is bigger than what I was b4, but to many people "tiny" but I am short though (5'2). I lost all of it naturally no exercise or anything just breastfeeding. if you plan to breastfeed be happy that will make the weight fall off of you.

If you do go overdue, trust me its not the end of the world. I know how it feels to be pregnant and uncomfortable, but it wont be this way 4ever even if it feels like that. Soon you will hold your baby boy in your arms.

  5. I understand how you feel!  I am 38 weeks today.  I went on Friday and they said I was a "fingertip" dilated, so I was like, "Is that a cm?" and she said it wasn't.  Darnit!  I hope this Friday I've made some progress!  On the other hand, several people have told me they had no sign the baby was coming at their internal exam, and still had the baby a day or two later.  Also, I've gained even more than you, don't worry!  Plus, you were underweight, so it's not so bad to gain a little extra (that's what my doc said).  Good luck!  Here's hoping our little ones are here soon!
