i'm 39 weeks pregnant i'm 2cm dilated, cervix soft, starting to lose mucous plug, an i've been having some contractions but they are so weird they do hurt sometimes and i can't really keep track of them because they all feel different and aren't in any pattern. they also come and go but "something" is always going on in there, like my stomach stays really hard, but it only really tightens every once in a while, also i've been having period type cramps on and off that i'm pretty sure are contractions cause my back hurts too.i'm just worried that something isn't right or i'm not gonna know when it's really time? please help have you experienced this? what do you think? is labor soon? soo worried.....

  1. The plug is coming loose and mild contractions, labor is beginning, but don't panic yet. When contractions are consistent and 15 minutes apart or less, go to the hospital. If you water breaks, go to the hospital right away. Hope you've got your bag packed! Good luck and congrats! You'll know when it's time!!

  2. you are in the start of labor. once they get into a pattern and come every 3 to 5 minutes and are painful all the time then go to the hospital. get a paper and pen and right down the time every time you feel something happening. while you are waitint for active labor clean up and get packed for the hospital. call your doctor to let them know you are having contractions. take a hot shower and sit in there for a while this helps relax your muscles and lets your body do the work. good luck and congrats

  3. Relax. When the contractions are regular, then start timing them from the end of one, to the beginning of the next. Take a bath to relax, you probably have a LONG time, yet. Typically, with first pregnancies, it takes at least 12 hrs. after contractions begin regularly.
