Question:

I'm afraid my teeth's enamel might wear out...

I've been using a Sonicare electric toothbrush for the past three months, with a timer built into it. It lets me brush my teeth for at least two minutes, which I think is a little long. I might be just paranoid, but I am younger so will it effect my enamel in a negative way if I brush too long? I also use floss, by the way.

  1. Nah, those toothbrushes are awesome. :) I'm sure they won't wear out your enamel. I just think you're being paranoid. And, besides, you're supposed to brush for about two minutes.

    Just don't brush hard.

  2. you'll be fine. all quality electric toothbrush are designed for comfort and ease of use. the 2 min. timer is the required time to brush our teeth.

manual toothbrushing is successful only if the person uses soft toothbrush, does circular motions instead of straight, aggressive motions AND uses floss.

you're doing good. keep it up.

  3. Your enamel will be fine if you don't press too hard that you find it uncomfortable.  I'm 30 and brush and floss often and my teeth are in great shape.
