  1. Well you're right, like golf, ping pong and video games, all you need to succeed is muscles. Heck, you're already 3/4's of the way there to being a pro surfer!!! Congrats.

  2. dunno but i just got two points :D

  3. Well, I am 5'7" and i am also all muscle no fat, not being full of my self, just telling him were similarly built, 125 lbs and a very experienced surfer.  I have 5 boards and u did not say if u were a beginner or already a surfer so ill give 2 great boards that you can use for both scenarios.

Beginner - for me i loved my Rusty Piranha 6'0', a great board that i still use for those flat days that i dont feel like using my longboard.

Already a surfer- My personal favorate board, a 5'10" tuflite al merick Flyer.  This Board is a rocket through any wave, as long as you know how to surf it.  Also not a bad beginner board, but my fav for advanced surfing.  I have used it in knee high waves up to around 11 footers, and it excels in all of them.  A great board that literally FLYES.  Also very maneuverable, i do floaters, cutbacks, flat spins, get tubed, bottom turnes, late takeoffs, u name it this board can do it!

  4. bragger....

  5. Okay muscle guy, how much does all your muscle weigh? And, how good a surfer are you? The answer to this question can be found in a good local surf shop, not on line, especially with as little information as you provided.

If you are just starting, good luck, and I hope you are very patient. If you are already a good surfer, you probably know pretty much what you can handle in board design, so take it from there. And take it to the surf shop.

Good luck. I have been surfing since '66, and I take all my surfboard questions to the pros at the surf shop.

  6. you not full of yourself

  7. It has more to do with your height and what type of surfing you want to do.  Muscle body composition has little to with anything.  Some people probably still buy into the "muscles reduce flexibility and speed" nonsense, but as long as your flexible and have swimming endurance, you'll be fine.

Go to a surf shop and they'll fit you up.

BTW: If you're just starting out, I wouldn't worry too much.  You'll go through plenty of boards before you're good enough for competing.

  8. I would suggest e-mailing surfing websites, talking to people that sell serf board (so long as size that does not affect the price as they will give you biggest/smallest).

    Do some research online.
