Some of the research i have done seems to make students jump through hoops if they're not from an EU or have relatives that live there. Here in america most colleges have advisors that help you with your transfer request although the one im attending now does not deal in International transfers. Can anyone help me on the best way to approach looking at colleges in Dublin, Ireland? Any help is appreciated- Thanks!

  1. Most European universities - Irish included - will accept you as a student, but will require you to start the course from the beginning. You can't transfer credits or classes between European universities like you can in the US. If you must change your major (your course, they call it), or your university, you usually must start again from scratch. This is true if you're coming from the US as well.

That's why you're not finding the same sort of transfer student support system as most US unis have. There isn't one, because if you change unis there, you pretty much apply to the course like everyone else does, and if accepted, you start from year one.

I honestly don't remember how long a bachelors degree takes in Ireland. In the UK, it's only three years. If that's true of Ireland as well, that'll at least help a bit.
