  1. I'm in the same boat except I lifeguard and I'm a swim instructor so I'm constantly in the water. I'll put leave in conditionar in my hair before I swim and then when I'm done I really scrub my scalp and put a lot of moisturizer in it. I also do a lot of hot oil treatments

  2. Unfortunately, you have to wear your swim cap whilst swimming because direct contact with chlorine will damage your hair (discoloration, dryness and frizz).

Aside from that, you have to use a good shampoo and conditioner (such as ULTRASWIM and other shampoos) that was mentioned in other queries about this subject matter; a twice a month (or once a month) visit in a salon (hot oil treatment) will also suffice.

  3. Well I have been on varsity swim team for a couple years now, and i got my hair died right before season, and a great way to protect your hair is to get it wet in the showers first then run a little bit of good conditioner though your hair. Then you can put on a cap and trust me it will protect your hair. No one will even tell you went in to a pool afterwards. Your hair will be soft and tangle free after .. as a bonus!!!

  4. Same here.... those two don't mix. Hair reacts with water, doesn't matter is it tap water, pool water or sweat. Nothing to do.
