I'm an American citizen who would like to move to Sweden for a year or so, do I need a visa to do this? I also read somewhere that if you want to stay there for more than 3 months then you have to prove to the Swedish government that you have enough money to do so, but I don't know how much I'll have if/when I move. I was planning on getting a job while I was there.

  1. Yes you will need a visa. Contact the Swedish Konsulat and find out what you need to do.

  2. You need a visa if you want to stay more than three months. If you want to work, you also need a work permit, which is more difficult to get.
