Can you tell me what my current status is....?

I moved here in Dec 29th 07 ...got married March 10th and have an appointment to receive work permit and card on may20th...

What is my current status between receiving the card?...am I still considered illegal?...as I didnt receive a work visa before moving....

I want to look for teaching jobs that require papers or work permit which Ill receive in may....Can I use my marriage book as proof ?....

    Your best bet is to take time and visit a GESTORIA, it's one of the professions that exist in Spain... Gestores handle all kinds of legal paperwork for you, and they usually have better access and shortcuts to cut thru' red tape that a private person doesn't.

    You are not "illegal"...You are simply in the legal limbo between one end and the other of your paperwork.

    Start taking CV's to schools you might be interested in teaching at next term, as long as you include the explanation of your status in the CV you should have no problems...

    Good luck, both in your marriage and your new life in Madrid!
