I'm an E.U citizn to another E.U country. Is it true there is some E.U wide health insurance?

Am I right about this or do I need to buy seperate short break insurance? Travelling form London to Rome for just for 4 days

  1. you need a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC), the new version of the old E111.

    Go to

    www.dh.gov.uk/travellers

    to apply on line.

    Not all EU cvountries have a reciprocal health agreement with each other but Italy does with UK. You may have to pay for services up front but it's reclaimable. I'd advise getting private travel insurance too though, it only cost me £6 for 5 days cover to Spain recently. Well worth the peace of mind. Have a good trip


  2. If at the minute you are in England you need to go to the post office and ask for an E11 form which gives you the right to free health insurance while travelling in Europe its quite simple to get and you just need the post office seal and your details.
