  1. Ive got the same foot build, and I wear a Solomon X Wave 8.  Stiff enough for the aggressive skier, but enough flex to be comfortable over the course of an entire day.  Look into getting the liners heat molded, which usually comes with the purchase of a new pair of boots, and get some custom footbeds made for you.  These things make all the difference in the world.

Hey Pokemon,  most dedicated skiers own their own equiptment.  Renting boots is pointless, you will never find a consistent fit.

  2. I'm about the same size and I use a Salomon pro model, modified for my ankle problems,  I've tried several brands and keep coming back to the Salomon brand.  Atomic is too narrow in the toe box,  Nordica was way too narrow and the arch was in the wrong location.

Take a day and go to the best boot shop in your area, go early, allow at least an hour in each pair of boots, 3-4 hours is better.

Let the boot fitter recommend the boot for you, check for canting requirements, and get footbeds to properly support your foot in a skiing position.  Your boot size will probably be a 26 or 26.5, unless you are a racer.  In that case ask your coach, and your size is probably smaller by one shell size.

Shell sizes  27= 9  (2+7) for men, women are 2 sizes smaller a half size is  .5, and are American, not European.  Also your boot size is smaller than your shoe size.  When you remove your boots, your feet should let you walk comfortably. If your feet hurt in the boots something is wrong with the fit. The boot should be tight, but not painful.

             Good turns.  Jim.
