  1. you need some social services check with your human resources dept

  2. If you profit sharing , you could apply for a hardship withdrawal.

  3. Having worked at Wal-Mart and been in a situation similar to yours, I can say that your HR Dept. at Wal-Mart will not be of any help.

There are government benefits that you qualify for, although probably nothing explicitly for rent payments. Make an appointment and go to your local Department of Family Services (or whatever it is called in your state) and apply for food stamps/ebt card, Medicaid, and anything else your case worker will recommend. That will free up some money for you to use on your rent.

You might also want to talk to your landlord and explain your situation to him/her. You might be able to postpone payments or just make arrangements that are more line with what you can do now (like pay half rent on the 1st, then the rest on the 15th or something like that). If you are a good tenant then your landlord might accommodate you to avoid finding a new tenant.
