I heard that religion is pretty rampant in the US, but maybe I'll have to move there for work.

Will it be safe to live in the US? I really don't want my house to be burnt down!

  1. LOL.  Yes it's safe.  I'm a Quaker but have several Atheist friends.  No one has harmed them.  You've gotten the wrong idea about America.  There are a lot of myths.

  2. The center of Christianity is not in the West ... it's in the East and in the South ... the great majority of Christians are non Western so therefore you won't be bothered much

  3. Lol. Lol.... Haha...

Are you really asking this question?

Yes. It is safe for you to live in the United States.

Religious values aren't held as highly as they were 20 years ago. Just look at all the mess America's in right now...

No one's going to burn down your home. You have a higher chance of being stereotyped because of race or some other race related issue here in the United States.

  4. you might get some heat in the deep south (more like not fitting in, not violence directed at you or anything), but you'd blend in like a tree in a forest whether you were athiest/christian or voodoo if you lived in a coastal metropolis like los angeles, san francisco or new york.

the midwest...definitely ok, just lots of christians. you shouldn't have a problem there at all, where you kinda might feel weird in the bible belt (a region in the southern states that includes alabama).

  5. I'm cold. Is it safe to live in Antarctica?

  6. Oh sure it is. Most people don't speak about religion unless they are drunk or Overtly religious. Most people will at least respect your opinion or just shrug you off as a damned soul. Some places are better than others though.

  7. I'm guessing that's like an American asking an Australian if English is widely spoken here.

  8. It doesn't matter what you are, theists and atheists are murdered without discrimination.

  9. You just have to cary a big gun.

  10. No problem with your lack of belief.

Its your attitude that's going to give you trouble, but if it worries you, why not stay in the paradise you now live in?

  11. hahah dude you'll be fine!

  12. Hahah nooo you wont get your house burnt down!

Depending on where you live you might get a few knocks on the door from Jehovas Witnesses  or Mormons though. lol

  13. ;) Make sure to stay in a big megalopolis and work out. Just kidding. I'm doing just fine in NV, so yeah, don't worry, they are an overwhelming majority but overall they are harmless.

  14. The United States is filled with all kinds of different religions and tons of liberals and atheists - even in the deep south where Christianity is more heavily populated. The US isn't a 3rd world country and you won't be persecuted for your beliefs.

  15. Yeah Americas real diverse man. Stay out Detroit with that though. We don't care but if you trying advertise or run around preaching a culture no body is trying gear you might get hurt. I don't like the Jehovah Witness. I dont come to your porch with a bible so stay off mine.

  16. Our government is NOT ruled by religion. Religion has no part in the government, or in education. (English teachers have to call Christianity and Catholicism mythology in school.)

Though, alot of people in the south tend to stick to old ways. The laws say it should be safe, but not everyone listens.

Most of the US is really good, just pay attention to what kind of neighborhood you're thinking of living in.

(Despite this they still have "under god" in the pledge..... Too hung up on tradition to change.)
