Question:

I'm an online gambler who wants to quit. Is there a way to customize your internet to ban all gambling sites?

I feel I have an issue with online gaming, but only online gaming, so I really don't want to do something like Gamblers Anonymous or anything like that. I truly feel that I can take care of my problem by restricting myself. It's worked in the past but I've been able to find loopholes when I have extra cash to throw around. There are hundreds of online casinos, so I can't go to every one individually and tell them not to give me an account. Any ideas?

  1. this is the dumbest questoin I have ever seen on Yahoo.

  2. throw out your computer and join a group for gambling addictions

  3. You can have your credit card #'s restrict online purchasing.

  4. Have someone else block sites that have gambling. If you know how to block them, you'll know how to un-block them and get around to wasting your money again.

  5. maybe disable all your flash settings....or delete your online accounts, and desktop shortcuts.

  6. I agree with the statements about the credit cards.

Restrict your method of getting money to those websites then there is no worry.

    Same with bank accnts.'

Good luck and I respect you trying to do it on your own.

  7. Yes, there are programs that block certain sites, but if you truly have a problem, these do you no good if you know how to unlock them also. You need to have someone else establish one for it to do any good.

  8. If you're not willing to go the GA route, then perhaps you just need a hobby.  Make something in your free time, buy a video game console, learn an instrument.  Do SOMETHING to keep yourself from hitting the gambling sites.

  9. Most of the online casinos will let you ban yourself from play.

  10. There's a program you can buy called 'Gamblock' it blocks all gambling sites from your pc...

See: www.gamblock.com for all the info

and I hope you can end your gambling

    www.gamcare.co.uk

    Best Wishes :)

EDIT: also you can self exclude yourself from all legitimate gabling websites minimum peroid is 6 months and once you ask them to do it you can't undo it... so you should check their help pages for info on this or contact them...

  11. If you are using Firefox you can use Adblock to block them, the only problem is that it's way to easy to get around.

Another solution would be asking the sites themselves to block you from entering, but it's a long shot, they might not care enough (in which case they aren't taking their responsibility's seriously enough) I think some sites now have self exclusion options as well.
