Novice users have been derailed when I ask them to 'subscribe' to a YahooGroup by sending an email. I need [Join] the be dummyproof.

I don't want them to reply to me me and I ADD them. Too many, too much work. INVITE is too complicated too. Does not work with listserves.

What do I include in a plain text email to let others JOIN?

I realize this question has probably been answered 13K times. But hey? Yahoo Asked. . . .

  1. invites are glitchy. some ISP's see them as spam, nothing you can do

    there are 3 types of groups

    open = anyone can join

    restricted = approve membership

    closed = invitation only

    if you have a closed- invite only group, other than asking if they have another address, you're limited

    if it's not, send the direct link while on the homepage, copy the URL from your browser and paste it to your mail and send it that way. they can go to the group and click the tab top right corner Join This Group

    How do I join a group?
