Question:

I'm applying for a government job that's a GS-06. Need help with Series and Grade equivilant to a E-4.

The question for my Army section is "Is this a Federal position?"

....yes it is

So I need to know the "Series" and "Pay Plan and Grade"

All I know is I was a E-4!!

Please help!

  1. Most GS-06 positions require "specialized" experience of 12 months at the GS-04 level.  Once you submit your resume, they will decide if your military experience qualifies you for this position.  You should be able to go to a website called vmets and see your military experience and how it converts to the civilian work force.


  2. There is no equivalency between GS positions and your grade in the army. You need to read the job description to see how many years of experience that position is requiring you to have. If it requires 4 years of experience and you have done your job that long, then you would be competitive for that job. If you've only been in the army for 3 years, then you obviously do not meet the requirements and would not be competitive.
