  1. You should know basic chemical clean up before you apply for a job that requires it lol. If i were an employer i would just skip right over your resume right now if the information hadn't been added.

    However some basic chemical spill clean up procedures, is always alert people around to stay back and try to vent the area in case of fumes (don't want it to build up especially if it's volatile). Call 911 and someone more experienced than you.

    I'm curious to know what kind of job your applying to that requires just basic clean up procedures.


  2. The Employer is required to have a HAS MAT, operations manual, dealing with all chemicals that you are liable to come in contact with, and how to handle any situation that you might have with them.

  3. Well at a minimum (assuming you're in the US) you should get your OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER certification, additional classes like chemistry wouldn't hurt either.
