any unusual circumstances that i may have regarding my financial situation. What would be some good answers to that question? B/c I dont know whether or not my family has any unusual circumstances.

  1. You don't "have to" state any unusual circumstances, per se.

    There are no good answers that anyone can provide you here.  That would be a lie on your application and it can lead to the loss of funds for you.

    If you don't know if your family has any unusual circumstances, ask them straight up.  Go to your dad and ask "Dad, is there anything barring you from being able to pay for college for me?"

    If the answer is anything other than "I don't feel like it," then you may have an unusual circumstance.


  2. An unusual circumstance is a loss of a job/chance in employment, disability, something like that. If your parents just won't pay, that's not considered. There are LOTS of people who's parents can't and/or won't help. That is not a good enough reason for the office to have a special circumstance. (At least not in the FA office that I work for)
