Question:

I'm applying for law school, and need to report any arrests...?

I was arrested at 17 for shop lifting. I left town before the court date, and never looked back! I have no idea what happened, as a result of that.

15 years later ... I have never been in trouble again, and am applying for law school. How do I find out what happened with my juvenile arrest? Will this keep me out of law school?

I'm required to report juvenile arrests, so I imagine they have a way to check for it. At least, the Bar Association must.

  1. You seem smart enough, but could you feel good about yourself, not being truthful?

You should clear up the matter before going any further.

  2. Well, you're getting your come up-ins. The probability is that they put a theft charge on your record. The irony is that because you didn't hire a lawyer when you should have your chances to become a lawyer are now in jeopardy. Crime doesn't pay...most of the time. I sincerely hope that it bites you in the *** because people like you belong in jail, not in law school. I mean stealing is low, but ditching the court date is just scummy.
