  1. homeschooling!

public gives way too much  bad influences, stress, anxiety and etc

comfort of home is always there:)

  2. Statistically, homeschooling is better than public school.  Here are some statistics for you:

I strongly believe that homeschooling would be a better option for many families if they would only take the time to investigate it and give it a try.  I believe MOST parents care about their child's social and academic success and I believe MOST parents are capable of meeting their child's needs in these areas.  I think it is unfortunate that many parents trust the system with these tasks they they could better handle themselves.

Here is a comparison of public school and homeschooling:

Here is are some of the main benefits of homeschooling:

    Hope this helps!

  3. I think it really depends on the person and the area as to which is better but I know that in my experience that homeschooling was far superior to anything I could have got in public schools and I am excelling in college now because of it.

  4. Public.

  5. For whom?

It all depends - for some kids homeschooling is better, while for others public school is better.  It just all depends.

  6. I agree with ozboz... each student is different and each family is different. I don't believe education should be "one  size fits all".

  7. That depends on the public school, and the homeshooling family, in question.

When done well, homeschooling has great advantages over many public schools.

  8. I send my kids to public school because I think they enjoy it.  If school is not fun anymore I will take them out.  There is online schools for parents if you can't teach them all by yourself.  So I would say it depends.  Going out in public can be fun.  I like my kids to meet new people long as they are fair.

  9. For my family, homeschooling is better.

  10. To be honest, I'm in an online high school called Insight School of Kansas.

In public school, I wasn't anywhere near popular and I was often in trouble. My mom homeschooled me for a while until I found out I wanted more out of it. So I found Insight School of Kansas (my third online school by the way) and have started my schooling there. I can get up whenever I want, and it's online 25 hours a week of school. Do schooling whenever you want, wherever you want.

They give you a laptop, a printer, and textbooks if needed. They also give you a small stipend to help pay for internet. They have over 120 classes and a special tutor, called an iMentor that calls you up whenever you are struggling, need help, etc. And to make it better, it's free for all who live in the state. They actually have several of these schools in different states.

So I guess this would categorize as home school?

  11. Depends on the situation and what you mean by "better".

  12. It depends on the local school system. I am fortunate enough to have a great school system in the town I live. The school always scores in the top 10 in the state. There is not one child in the school systen who has not graduated because he/she didn't pass the state test, unlike other near by school systems.

The highschool it's self was awarded a blue ribbon award by IBM for their math and science programs. IBM only awards 20 schools nation wide, not to shabby for a public school.

I actually selected to live in this city because of their school system. However if your not lucky enough to live in this city then homeschooling would be better.

  13. It depends on many things, most of which have already been mentioned. One thing that I feel hasn't been said yet is that some families who decide to homeschool aren't truly prepared to teach, either the parents don't really know the material well enough, or as in many cases, they don't put rigid enough schedules in place so the children end up being able to avoid their work by saying they'll do it later and then never doing it. I was homeschooled in elementary school, and other than feeling like i was missing out on social interactions, I think it was much better for me. I was able to get more work done in less time than in public schools where the teachers are not able to give as much individual attention. I have knew a family that homeschooled and their children hardly learned anything. It all depends on the way it is handled and the resources that you can put into it.

  14. I  am a home schooling mother. (Yes my children get lots of socialization.)  Our curriculum is better than what the public school system uses. We choose our curriculums and we make our own schedules. We get more done in less time. The public schools (government schools) don't tell us what level our children should be on and at what speed they should be working. Public schools, in my opinion, hold children back from reaching their potential. Most children are able to do more challenging work but parents have been brain washed into believing that education doesn't start until a child is around 6 years old and in kindergarten. This is simply not true.

Our school year is 180 within a 12 month period. This allows more family time.

  15. Usually, public schooling is better. But for individuals, sometimes homeschooling might be better.

  16. It depends on the needs of the family.

While we homeschool, there are some families are not able to remove their children from schools, for various reasons.  Some parents don't want the responsibility.  Some kids prefer school.

    To each their own.

  17. I think that there is no one right answer for every child. I think that homeschooling can be wonderful for certain students and a disaster for others. I think public schools can be wonderful for certain students and a disaster for others.

Homeschooling works well when the family is committed to making it work. This is just not true in some families.

Public schools can work well depending on the particular school. In my city we have schools that are ranked nationally and schools that are just not very good.

  18. I see this question a lot. i usually try to answer it but seeing as how I have never been to a public school, just homeschool, all i can say is that there are many advantages and disadvantages to each one.

  19. it is not about which method is better, it is about  getting each kid the best education possible, by what ever means are available and work best. I have 5 school age kids..and they all learn differently.

  20. I believe that it doesn't matter which type of schooling is better.  I believe that it is the student who is being taught is what's important.  If a student can learn better at home, then homeschooling is best, but if the homeschooling situation won't be the best idea for the student then public/private school is better.  Many people knock public education because they feel teachers are not doing their job, but we need to remember that students come to school with habits, behaviors, and interests.  It is up to the school to develop those interests, habits, and behaviors in a positive way.

  21. Homeschooling - as far as academic, social etc.  every way outweighs Public and kids grow up loving to learn instead of Hating it!

  22. I'm a teenager in public high school.  I won't have kids for another decade or so, but I already know that I'm going to home-school them.  The public school system seems to often work for itself more than the kids.  Mine just wants me to pass a standardized test every year so they won't get shut down.

  23. Give Madrona a thumbs up now her opinion is the best.

  24. Public schools were designed by the Prussians to train, rather than teach. Horace Mann brought the Prussian system over in the 1840s.

Homeschooling is better than public schools because any form of homeschooling is intended to actually teach.

I'm way ahead of many of my agemates, but I'm not particularly smart. I'm just in a system that lets me use my time more efficiently.
