  1. I'd go with something in a nice earth tone.  Depending on the weather, a nice sun dress would do.  Just make sure not to wear anything white.

  2. For a fall wedding, a nice dress and cute cardigan would be nice. Obviously no white. But something comfortable and nice, weather appropriate. Hope you have fun!

  3. church clothes...no white...no bright colors...pastels are best..

  4. What you ought to wear will really depend on the formality of the event, what time of day it is, the location, etc.  There should be some indication as to the dress code on the invitations/wedding website/etc.  If there isn't an explicit note, there are "subtle hints" to look for - or you could ask a member of the bridal party to enlighten you!

I've attached 2 links below - one discusses the "hints" to be found in the invitation and various bits of wedding "gossip."  The second is a breakdown of the levels of formality that you might encounter as well as suggestions regarding what might be appropriate to wear.

    Good luck!

  5. It has been said not to wear white. Maybe something short sleeve and cream or champagne color.

  6. Go to nordstroms in Columbia or Towson depending on your location. You want something fall, nothing white at all!! don't even do cream. A lovely dress will do well, probably short (but not too short) since it won't be that cool yet (hopefully, knowing our weather who knows). Strapless but maybe you can get a shawl or some type of throw if you are going to be out at night. Try also Cache, if its a really fancy wedding. Other than that, Macys has a few wonderful dresses. It all depends on whether its a very fancy wedding and how close the people are to you.

  7. A chocolate brown short dress. It's safe. September is pretty close to fall. Chocolate brown is also the new "black".

  8. Remember that women should never wear black to weddings (men's suits are ok, though).

  9. It depends on how formal the wedding is. Sometimes regular Sunday dress is acceptable, while other times its black tie. You'll do fine as long as you wear something relatively nice, preferrably a dress. Slacks don't look appropriate at a wedding.

  10. you can never go wrong with a little black dress!

  11. It depends upon the formality of the wedding, but in late September, you cannot go wrong in an autumny color (like red (not fire-engine, but like fall leaves), orange, gold, brown) in a shade that works with your skin tone.  Then choose a cut in line with the formality of the wedding--black tie you might choose an evening gown whereas for a casual wedding, something you'd wear to church or a business meeting.  If it is going to be warm, you could wear a lightweight material.
