Question:

I'm auditioning for "The Wizard of Oz" and would like some auditioning tips?

Well, to begin, I narrowed down my top three songs:

Cinderella - "In My Own Little Corner"

Mulan - "Reflection"

Le Miserables - "Castle On A Cloud"

Which one would be the best? NO ONE say "Over the Rainbow"

Also, is it a bad idea to have pigtails in (I'm 12)?

And is my age, again 12, too young for the part? I look almost exactly like her, no kidding. I'm about 5 ft right now and I'll probably grow a couple inches or so over the summer. Do you think I could get the part?

And I'm worried about my dancing a little... we have to learn the dance right there and then and perform it. What do you think I could do to become better at doing this? Last time I messed up a couple spots but I still landed a big role.

Also, I don't want to end up a munchkin or anything lame like that. (Oh yeah I'm a girl) I have from today, June 2nd, until September 2/3. I kind of get nervous with the singing, but never the acting. I already know I'm a natural at it (not bragging, it's the truth!)

  1. Sing in my own little corner, too many people sing from Les Mis auditiors will forget you.

Pig tails- do you normally wear them?

Don't wear the high, dog ear style but low ones would be fine or two french braids would be acceptable.

Unfortunately looking the part rarely means you've got it unless you got the skills required for the role. So brush up on your dancing, all I can say is dance all you can rent dvd's of dance instruction and follow along if you can't get lessons

Dororthy is a strong singing role, practice practice practice, if you can't nail the octave jump in over the rainbow forget it.

best fo luck to you and keep practicing!
