I'm trying to figure out how to read for her, also I'm singing Adelaide's Lament. Except I haven't memorized it with the voice, the movements, and the voice. Has anybody ever played as Adelaide? Any tips?

Thanks!

Peace

:-)

  1. Yup. Belt right through your nose, nice and twangy and nasally.  The NY accent is key too, but it will come along easily since you're already belting through your nose. WOrk on those sniffles and coughs...they should be annoying and funny!

I'm assuming you're a belt alto or you wouldn't be trying out for the part, so this might go without saying, but be careful not to continue to belt as you go out of your natural belt range. You'll have top be carefull about using a good mix there in a few spots.

  2. rent the movie guys and dolls..

and we had this musical last year. it has a very old newyorkish vibe to it so just get the accent down and your good to go
