  1. I think she was saying that you are artistic.Meaning that you are creative and good at art.Autism is a form of disabilty and as a teacher she/he should not have called you that.

  2. how does she know? autism is a learning disorder a bit like dyslexia.

  3. It means shyou are learning disabled

  4. What a strange teacher!!

    Why did he say so?

Does he know you very well?

    Was it a joke?

Tell it your parents, they will help you.

  5. Look at this person's questions/answers- and total score of 75-it seems he is t=just trying to get a reaction out of people and enjoy the vilation notices he receives-

you do have a serious problem---but I don't think it's autism-people with autism  don't pull stunts like this-

seek the help of a mental health professional

I do feel sortry for you-having nothing better to do tahn abuse yahoo answers-I will not give you the satisfaction of reporting this question

If you really were autistic and wer able to use this website-you would know what autism means...

  6. Why would she tell you that?

I have a feeling she meant to say you were "artistic" not "autistic". A teacher has no right randomly telling a kid to their face and in front of anyone that they are autistic, or anything else.

  7. maybe she meant ARTISTIC, which means you are good at art

  8. Here is the Defination for AUTISM "Absorption in phantasy to the exclusion of interest in reality."

  9. well i would ask her what she meant by this and why did she say this? P.S here is a site to explain autisim, http://www.ninds.nih.gov/disorders/autis...

  10. Autism is a medically diagnosed learning disability.  Teachers are not qualified to make this determination.  If your concerned talk to your Doctor.

Also ask your teacher she may have meant artistic which is a great thing to be in art class :) and an art teacher is qualified to make that determination.

  11. Autism is nothing like dyslexia. If you had autism it would be spotted through behaviourat a very young age.

Autistics are unable to empathise and have difficulty displaying emotion. If this is what the teacher was trying to say, (rather than meaning "artistic") then that is kind of out of order as they shouldn't use autism as a derogatory term. I suggest you talk to the teacher about it and ask wat they meant.

  12. Autism is a 'high functioning' disorder that until recently was confused as ADD or ADHD.  There are several different types of Autism, more frequently, Asperger Syndrome.  It effects each individual differently but it always makes the individual perceive the world in a different mannerism...
