This is like my first major babysitting job, I watch a 3 1/2 month old infant and her older sister who is nine. I feel bad because most of the time I'm holding the baby and can't do anything with her older sister. So she watches TV for three hours and tells me she's bored every five minutes. Any ideas?

  1. put the baby in a stroller and take them for a walk

  2. put the baby down! you don't want to hold the baby too much or it will become dependent on that. you could please her in a bouncy seat, or lay her down on the floor on a nice soft blanket, or place her in a swing. as long as you are near by, the baby will be fine even though she is not in your arms.

  3. The baby doesnt need to be held the whole time, does she have a bouncy chair or a swing? maybe you could put her in there beside you and play a board game with the 9 year old, then you can entertain the two of them at the same time :)

  4. have her do crafts and stuff or take her out to the park little things go a long way or do some math or spelling with her just because you are holding the baby does not mean you can not do things with the other one everything you do give a little part to the nine yr old and she will be forever greatful. if your making food have her help if your changing the dipar have her help doing laundry have her help i mean everything you do have her help SHE WILL LOVE YOU

  5. try playing games with them both like lucky ducks my cousin has it she loves it i dont know if u know what lucky ducks is but go on wal mart and type it in and u might want to get it with ur babysitting money or something.

ps dont always  hold the 3 yr old because when he gets like 6 or 7yrs old he will always want to be held

  6. You don't have to hold the baby every second of the day. Let the kid sleep by themselves in a little rocker chair or something and go do something with the 9 year old. I would suggest getting rid of so much TV time. I would sh*t a brick if I found out that my son was watching that much TV.

  7. if u dont put the baby down then the infant is going to think that u r suposed to be the one who holds him or her all the time... ask the parents for like a bouncy chair or something so you can sit the baby down and play with the other child for a little bit and make sure the 9 year okd understands when the baby cries there is something wrong and u need to attend him or her for a few mins.
