I'm bagpacking solo, where can I get the lowest $ with good location hostel in Venice n Rome?

I only affort to have a bed at the bagpacker hostel, and I'm a gal from Asia who travel solo in Europe.

The best deals in Rome are northeast of Termini Stazione.

The Beehive  www.the-beehive.com houses gals and guys like you in 8 bed dorm rooms at E22 per night. The owners Steve and Linda also will book other places for you in Rome, Florence or Venice starting at about E30 per night. Check out www.cross-pollinate.com.

www.fawltytowers.org is a hostel in the same area that also has 50 beds at E22 per night. Both of these places are safe and clean.

Venice has Foresteria della Chisea Valdese ([e-mail]) with 60 beds in all kinds of configurations. It's E23 per night and includes breakfast. It's on Giudecca which is an island south of the two main islands surrounding the Grand Canal. It's a E0.50 ride across that canal to Giudecca if you take the traghetto instead of the E5 vaporetto.
