Okay, well here are the facts. I'm barely 13 (turning it this month) and have to get hip surgery. i recently ask on Yahoo Q & A about the benefits of having a pet rabbit, because i thought it would be great to get one. And after i did hours of research, i came up with the fact that rabbits wouldn't be great for someone who is on bed rest for two months. what type of pets (preferably a rodent or something that i can cuddle with) do you suggest? I can not get a dog or a cat. Thanks!

  1. A big Stuffed Teddy Bear!

    1) they do not have to be fed

    2) they do not have to be walked

    3) they do not have a litter box

    4) you can squeeze and hug them all the time

    5) they don't get sick and die

    6) they really appreciate getting dressed up in what you choose for them to wear

Small pets like hamsters do not cuddle, turtles are not amused by it, and goldfish abhor it.

    Dogs have masters

    Cats have STAFF!

I know this is a really scary time - don't try to complicate it too much -

I wish you all the best and Godspeed through your recovery!

  2. Well what i would suggest since you cannot have a dog or cat maybe a hamster to cuddle cause its small but it has to be tamed =D and good luck with the surgery.

  3. Well get a little hamster. And I like yur Bunny idea. :)

  4. Yea honey a rabbit would not be good, cat would be the best, but what about a ferrit? Or even a bird? I wish you the best honey!

  5. Hip surgery, wow!  I had to have a compression nailing on mine.  Quite painful sometimes, but I still have the hardware in my leg.

Rodents are an extremely high maintanance pet.  You have to keep their cages clean and you have to keep them amused, somewhat.  I had a guinea pig for a while and he was a very pleasant but also very noisy little pal.

I really don't think a pet is a good idea for you right now.

Try a stuffed animal for a while.

Good luck and a speedy recovery from your surgery.

  6. Have you thought about a Guinea Pig?  They are more sedentary than rabbits, easier to care for, and usually amenable to being held and much less 'bitey' than a bunny.  Plus, they make that cute little oinking noise!  Here's a good site about caring for a Guinea Pig to help you make up your mind: http://www.2ndchance.info/guineapigcare....

  7. try getting a hamster or get goldfish =D

  8. maybe a Guinea pig or a stuffed animal

  9. Well i think it would be best to have a rat!! their cute and sweet and medium sized!!

  10. ummmm a gerbal or turtle
