Question:

I'm being plagued by flies?!?

Over the afternoon, flies have been gathering on the inside of my bedroom window. We've tried to shoo them away, but they seem determined to stay there! Eventually we get rid of them, but then they come back...

Anyone have any idea WHY they want to sit on my window?? Sounds stupid, but we're stumped! (My room overlooks a garden if that helps at all)

Plus does anyone have any ideas about how to get rid of them? Other than hitting them with a broom =]

Thanks for your help!

  1. they waitng for you to snuff it lol tc

  2. We were plagued with flies a couple of summers ago because of some illegal dump nearby. Its sooo annoying!!

In your case in may be a plant in your garden but a good way to keep them away is citronella.

You can by scented candles and things like sprays.

it really works and has a sort of lemony smell!!

    Good Luck!

  3. Because its warm - Try closing the window :~)

  4. find out if something unpleasant has been dumped or fly tipped in your area.they may just have hatched and if your windows are south facing they are drying themselves.

  5. House flies only live for a day, so that's a plus..but they lay eggs, that latter hatch into flies, every time they land somewhere in your home. You need to go to your local hardware store, and pick up this fly killer and dilute it in water. It's in an orange pouch, I forget the name sorry. You can leave it in a cup near the window, or you can dampen the window with it. Hopefully they die before they lay any more eggs, and more flies show up! I hope that was helpful!

  6. You don't live in Amityville do you?

  7. Wipe your windows all over with vinegar and Newspaper! With any luck they should Buzz Off!

  8. I have no idea why that's their gathering spot but I do know they hate this mixture and won't come near it. Take a spray bottle and fill half with water and half with Listerine. Then spray all around. Works well for mosquitos too. Safe to spray on yourself if needed also.
