I know that I'm going to Brazil, but I haven't found out where in Brazil yet. I'm wondering where will I probably end up? I mean, I know I could end up anywhere, but are there regions of Brazil where they send a lot of students? I'm from the US (indiana) if that makes a difference, and I'll be there for a year. Thanks!!

  1. It really depends upon where your exchange program operates. However, most Americans tend to go more to the bigger cities or to the south. Sao Paulo, Curitiba plus the smaller suburbs around them seem to be popular with placing organizations. The southern part of the country is richer than the north, so those are the families that can afford to host! Good luck and have fun!

  2. I heard good things about Rio de Janiero. Start Learning Portuguese!

  3. I went to Mexico as an exchange student from the U.S. in 2006, for a year also.

    It was the best.

    Hope ya have fun.

  4. I could go to big cities as Sao Paulo, Sorocaba, Ribeirao Preto, Curitiba, Belo Horizonte. My advice is DON'T GO TO RIO DE JANEIRO!!!! This city is very dangerous. There is war between Police and trafficker, dengue and other Tropical Virus.

If you choose Sao Paulo, please, contact me. I will be very happy in show the city.

    Good Travel!!!!
