some ppl told me that there are racist ppl there but i also heard that everyone is open minded. i'm black and live in a predominately white community in san antonio, i actually live near tony parker!!! All my friends are white and i do have a couple of black friends but not too many, so i told my friends (which are white) about the issue and they said don't worry about it cuz ur not ghetto, you act white and even have white features, so the white ppl will like you. what does that mean!!! Then my black friends said i need to act more like my color, like listen to rap and act ghetto. WTF!!! how do i act a color!! and i've never lived in ghetto so i justcan't pretend!!!! what does that mean!! it's 2008 why does race matter anymore!!! So is LSU and open minded school or am i going to have a problem??

  1. There is no way to act a certain color so what if your black white even if you were purple it shouldn't matter just be yourself there are people who are racist and there are people that are not no matter where you go there will always be people who judge others based on appearance so go for it and dont worry about a thing.

  2. Sweetheart! BE YOURSELF! Im African American and I go to a predomintely caucasian school, from day one I was myself. Both set of your friends are wrong! In college, you'll definetly learn about your position in the world as a MAN! You will change but for the better. Some people will see you as black some as white. KNOW WHO YOU ARE! That's what matters. Feel your way out, dont go to your school on defense, you be open minded and watch with your third eye. and stay positive and stay close to God by the end of the year you will know if its right for you.! Peace.

  3. I don't know about LSU, but just be your self.  Act grown up, polite and confident and people will get along with you.  Don't listen to those who tell you to act ghetto because if you do it will put a lot of people off, and the professors will not take you seriously.

  4. to white people we don't think color matters, but to those that are of color, they are aware that racism still exists.

Like the others have said, be you, people will like you for you, not because of your color.  Since you live by more white people you are going to "act" white because that is where you get your cues from, but if you lived by more black people then you would act more black.  This is why white people in the ghetto act black (make sense?).

LSU I would think has a good amount of black people attending.  You just have to find where you fit in.  Don't worry about it, you'll be fine.
