Question:

I'm bored a lot what to do to do more?+ Will I lose weight by riding my exercise bike while watching TV? ?

I actually have 2 questions.

I really don't do a lot now a days. I'm usually home all day except some weekends. I like to watch TV and be on the computer. However, I do like to go places it is just that I live about 30 minutes away from most of my friends. Also, some I've lost because I don't do sports or anything anymore or for whatever reason and I don't know anyone around where I live. ?1: What should I do to go places more so that I'm not bored all the time? Also, whenever I am bored, I tend to eat. I've gained a lot of weight because I had to quit dancing and now I don't do much. ?2: So, I just got an old exercise bike, do you think I'll lose weight if I ride it whenever I'm watching TV. I watch A LOT of TV.

  1. Being sedentary is very bad for your overall health, not just your weight. Your joints will break down from disuse.

    You will lose weight on the bike  but keep it to an hour a day. Keep pushing up the settings but don't do more than an hour.

    Besides the bike, go out for walks and check out your neighborhood. Take a class at your local adult ed, and go to free or cheap concerts at your local college or whatever they have for culture. Every town has something.

    Take up a craft of some sort to keep your hands busy while you're watching TV. Go and browse through a craft store and see what you might like to try.

  2. If you watch tv all the time, then you would be biking all the time.

    Therefore you would be burning a decent amount of calories.

    Provided you don't eat too much, you should lose a significant amount of weight.


  3. I'd like to know how old are you? Looks like you lost some motivation. I can tell you for sure that you will burn calories if you ride your bike, but i can promise you that you're gonna loose weight. You must follow up exercise with a healthy diet in order to loose weight. Try to get involved in activities that u will enjoy so that way you don't get bored.
