  1. I have 2 dogs and 5 cats right now. $ of them have been spayed or neutered, 1 was dumped in my yard and is getting ready to be spayed. All of them have spent the night at the vets- nothing to worry about-its just a precaution in case of of complications of the anestectics(just like us humans). They will be fine. When I took my first to get neutered, I was very worried, very scared, even telling my spouse tha if something hapened to my pet that he was gone too. All came home the next morning, happy as can be and started running around the minute they got in the door. You are a very7 responsible owner and you're doing the  right thing. All of my pets are ones that have been abandoned or unwanted.  Be brave, you are a good owner. My vet allowed me to call to check on them after the operation to ease my mind. And also, there is someone there that stays with the animals all night so there is constant monitoring. Relax and God Bless.

  2. somw offices let you pick them up in the evening and some don't. By the way, thanks for being a respnsible pet owner. =)

  3. A cat neuter usually does not have to stay overnight.

The neuter surgery is quick, simple and routine.  Your cat will only be under anesthesia for about 15-20 minutes.  But the vet will want to be sure he is fully awake before he is released.

Surgeries are usually planned for the morning so the cat can go home the same day.  I used to volunteer at my vet who at the time was the only doctor in the clinic (there are two now).  If he had an emergency that delayed his surgery schedule, he would offer the pet owner to leave the pet (no charge for the overnight stay) or to reschedule.

    Purrs to you and kitty.

  4. He will go in before 8am and be ready to go home by 4 or 5 that same day.

    Good for you!

  5. This is an easy surgery, usually an in and out procedure.  I guess it would depend on your vet though.  Again thanks for being a responsible pet owner!

  6. I think it depends on the place.

When one of my cats got neutered

he didn't have to stay the night.
