  1. Buy a bundle of strapping ( 1x3different lengths ), and brace it in 2 different directions.

  2. Drive 3 pegs 10 feet away from the base of the post, in 3 directions.  Use ropes or heavy wire to align and support the post in a vertical position.  Then put the concrete around the post in the hole.

  3. Attach two boards to the post at ground level and use them to plumb the post. This method will allow you to hang the post plumb and allow you to totally encase the post's bottom in concrete.

  4. Brace it with diagonal boards to stakes in the ground.  Use one in each direction to hold it.  You will need about 3-4 sets of these braces.  By the time you get 4 set, the first should be ready to be pulled and reused.  Since they will be reused, I recommend screws rather than nails.  Hope this helps.

  5. Put the concrete in the hole dry and tamp it down with a piece of rerod.  The pole will stay straight, and the concrete will absorb moisture from the ground and set over time.  We just put up a 6 ft privacy fence this way and it worked great.

  6. Use a level and nail light weight boards 2( 1x2x 3ft) to post to brace it in position til cement sets up.  You can also  pack rocks around base of pole in order to stabilize it the add cement. There is a liquid you can add to make concrete set faster.
