  1. tortoise should never be in a tank, what you need is a tortoise table! just like a wooden box 5inch high so he cannot see out. for substrate use soil with sand or peat.

they need to eat lots of leafy veg, fruit is ok but will damage the teeth,

never buy tortoise food, veg/flowers are all they need.

you will need a water dish also with a cuttle fish bone and some calcium suppliment sprinkled on the food.

i HOPE you have got the correct UVB light and basking light also! :D

  2. We raised a Tortoise when I was a child, she was already large when we got her. We named her Henrietta. She liked lettuce and green grapes. She would hang around under the frig. because it was always warm there. She would come out when we called her name and eat from our hands. Yours is a little small for letting loose in the house, you might loose it or step on it. We lived in an old house with wood floors. I thought she was great. Wish I could tell you more. Enjoy it. :-)
