  1. circuit city has the vizio 42 inch 1080p lcd tv for $999. great tv. and best for the price. remember in the store they will have the best input going to the most expensive tvs. trying to make them look so much better then the cheaper models. a little trick to make you spend more money.

  2. LG or Samsung. Read this article about LCD vs. Plasma vs. DLP.

  3. My first choice would be the largest Sony LCD HDTV you can find within your price limit.  Make sure it is a direct view LCD (no DLP or projection, plasma is good if your TV will be in a dark room because the glass screen will reflect everything in a well lit room, thus distracting from the picture).

In a full 1080p HDTV, there is a Sylvania model, a 42" that would be my choice if I cannot find a Sony for a low enough price.

  4. I love my plasma....

However unless you plan to watch that plasma in nothing but true HD and always 16:9 ratio. You run a serious risk of burn lines in Plasma.

LCD is terrific as well not as amazing of a picture as  plasma, but you wont run the risk if getting burn lines.

DLP is to big and bulky go with the nice flat panel tv`s.

    Best of luck.

  5. Sony Bravia is the man!

The TV is within your range, and if you need a stand, go for a RHT-G800, including surround sound and a one for all remote.

Bravia also kicks *** in the design department.

  6. LCD
