  1. passion, patients and a part time job at the local west marine.

  2. I've got a Chris Craft Sea Skiff, and a Chris Craft cabin cruiser. Want either one of them?

  3. The main thing is the tramsom. Small places in the outer hull can be fixed. A transom replacement is a very big job. If you have a lot of knowledge on working with fiberglass and the proper tools AND a place to you don’t need for about a year AND plenty of money AND plenty of patience, it’s a piece of cake. If you are lacking on any one of those things then you had better find a boat with a solid transom. Floors are not too bad. You should also stay away from a boat with heavy keel damage. The Keel (the bottom of the boat at the back) is the part that takes the most pounding during a speed run and has to be as solid as the transom. Wooden boats are the best choice. Wood is easier to work with and more forgiving. Inboard engines are the best for restoring as old outboards are hard to find. Wooden sail boats are very good for restoring if sail is your thing. The mail thing is ‘What do you like’ If you don’t like it then it will not be a good restoration, if you do like it then you will work harder to make it a more successful project.

  4. My condolences to your family.

  5. tip 1 Money, tip 2 more money ,tip 3 Lots more money, but before that sit down inside the boat and see what it need,s, not just the interior, but the Transom, is it solid? are the floor,s solid or spongy what condition are the controls and steering, get all the mechanical stuff fixed first. make sure all the wires are secure, then determan what the interior needs,
